BACKCOUNTRY
DESIGN & ART DIRECTION
Initially I was hired as the Graphic Design Manager for Competitive Cyclist, and aid in managing the Backcountry Design team. However, after 8 months, following a large-scale layoff, I assumed management of design and designers for all of Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist, Steep & Cheap, and Level Nine Sports.
Since then, I have elevated Competitive Cyclist to a new level of sophistication and design, enhancing imagery and visual communication. As well as direct and manage Backcountry established design language and styles. This role has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to manage a large team of talented designers, and to concept, art direct, and execute multiple successful campaigns across various brands.

Summit Club Loyalty Program
-
In 2025, my team led the end to end rebrand of Backcountry’s loyalty program, evolving it from a complex and outdated points system into a more intuitive and customer centered experience. The redesign focused on delivering meaningful value through clearer rewards, stronger alignment with customer behavior, and a deeper connection to Backcountry’s identity as a trusted expert in outdoor gear. The result is a more engaging and mutually beneficial program that strengthens loyalty while better serving an active and passionate outdoor community.
